Eddie's take on it
This was the original Four Thirds telephoto kit zoom lens, and it was replaced by the Olympus 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6. While it is 1/3 to 2/3 of an f-stop faster than its replacement (which generated a lot of scorn at the time of release), the reduction in size, weight and just generally how good the new lens is, makes it a worthwhile upgrade.
There is no reason to get this lens. Being a kit lens, it is unlikely to become a collectable.
