The Build of the Body
Alloy Body
The All new designed body is very strong and light. When I was able to pick up the alloy body, it felt like it was made out of alluminum, However it is made out of Magnesium Alloy. It is designed to protect the internal parts of the body from damage, as well as being built to withstand the impact of life. In the pictures below you will see that the even Mr Terada is standing on top of the body, with his full weight.

Water and Dust proof
Just as with the Olympus E-1 the E-3 is Water and Dust proof. The official spec says that its operating temperture is from 32 -104 F (0-32C) however they have tested it to work up to -14C. The issue with the temperture changes is with the functioning of the LCD on the top of the camera, however, we will see what type of extreme conditions the E-3 end up in.

150,000 Shutter life
The E-3 is also rated at 150,000 exposure Shutter life. However, many have seen the E-1 last well beyond that. |
