New Lenses: 14-42mm and 17mm

The new lenses are quite a bit lighter than the older 4/3 equivalent lenses. They also have a classic feel and styling to them. They overall are built very well, for an inexpensive consumer lens. The only major drawback on these lenses is that they fell like they are focus by wire. Also they were not packed with hoods so I assume that they will not ship with them.

The 17mm "Pancake"

The 17mm f2.8 lens is the lightest lens ever made, at least to my knowledge. It weighs in at 2.6 oz, almost 1 oz less than even the 25mm pancake lens. Overall this lens matches the camera very well.

The 14-42mm "Kit Lens"

The 14-42mm is a very unique lens which folds into a very small package. The interesting thing is that when the lens is unfolded it becomes longer than the Four Thirds version of the lens however it is still smaller in diameter. All in all we will have to wait for testing and real life results, before much more can be said about the lens. Except I really like how it folds down for portability. The 14-42mm lens is about as big of a diameter lens as I think the camera should carry, anything larger and the camera become the accessory to the lens.
