A Brief look At The Panasonic G-1

Pansonic sent me the G1 for a week, and really that isn't much time but I was able to take it for a few shots. A lot of talk has been over its overall size. It is quite small, as small as the Olympus E-4x0 series of cameras. But in some ways it is much smaller. The lens size is less in diameter, which saves a lot of mass. Take for example the 35-100mm f2.0, its filter size is 77mm but it physically is too big to fit in many conventional bags that I own. It may be close to other 70-200mm lenses but it is physically too large around and long to fit in many places. So in many aspects the G1 is the exact opposite, though very close in size to the Olympus E-4x0 cameras. It also feels and acts much smaller.
