Welcome to FourThirdsPhoto.com!
We are an online community dedicated to cameras, lenses and photography in the 4/3rds (and µ4/3 We will describe both standards as simply 4/3rds in the future of this document) format. You won't see a Canon or Nikon forum here but these and other camera systems may be discussed with the understanding that the purpose of this website is to provide a place for 4/3rds camera discussion. We also provide a gallery where photographers can showcase their best pictures taken with a 4/3rds camera.
About discussing other brands of cameras explained:
FourThirdsPhoto is a place where we discuss photography with 4/3rds camera equipment. It's okay to talk about other camera systems (Canon, Nikon, etc) as long as the discussion is in reference to the 4/3rds system. Sometimes comparisons are helpful in understanding the pros, cons and applications of the tools we use. We're not blind to the advantages that other systems offer. But this is not a place to initiate discussion about other camera systems for their own sake. Nor is this a place to bash any camera system. Remember, the person makes the photographer—not the equipment.
Now if you are wondering what the 4/3rd format is, we suggest that you visit here and the Four Thirds Consortium will explain.
We have no affiliation with any camera company except as enthusiasts.

The Rules
Our first and most important rule is: This is, and shall remain, a friendly site. No name-calling, spamming, or flaming is allowed. If you can't act like a grown-up, there are other places to play. Everyone has a voice here.
(It is key to memorize these simple rules. They could save your life.)
- No pornography of any kind
- No nudes or implied nudes
- Please be selective in the pictures that you post.
- All images should be from a 4/3 SLR or µ4/3 Changeable lens camera, except for certain circumstances such as pictures that have to deal with relevant content that will improve photo skills, such as a studio shot, from one of our pros. OR to show a certain/special post-processing technique. If a image is from another brand then we ask that you use in the photo forum the non4/3 thread prefix. We have had a lot of users who shoot 4/3 system as well as other systems, and would like to share other images.
- Images from a non 4/3 SLR / µ4/3 cameras can be used to compare something, but it needs to be done in a respectful manner to both manufactures.
- No non 4/3 SLR/ µ4/3 images should be used in any competitions, or in the galleries.
- No cussing, or sexual slurs. All cussing does is show immaturity, and we are a family friendly site.
- Don't be a TAKER. In this world there are 2 types of people: givers and takers. A giver in this case is one who seeks to build up this site and photography. They can be a person who asks questions, because the community as a whole gains knowledge and skill. Or they can seek to find a way to make this site better. On the other hand, a taker is someone who breaks down the community. This can be a slam against another member or website. If you have not reached a level of maturity to be a giver kindly leave our website and find another one where you will fit in.
- Providing links to other sites – we do not mind having links to other sites, but if the links are to just post complaints about another site, this is not appropriate.
- Do not spam, or put in links to malware. In addition, if you are a commercial seller, please ask for permission to sell your goods on this site.
- Because this is a photography website, there is no purpose to discuss religion, politics or other deeply divided subjects. All that these tend to do is divide the community. For example, if I take a picture of my church, I do not want to hear about how such and such a church is bad, and another is better. Instead focus on the photos.
- Plagiarism is not allowed. If you quote another author or display another photographer's photo, you MUST credit the author and the source.
- Do not alter another members photos without permission.
Violates will be banned and we will remove offending content.
Also to the above rules for monthly contests:
- All photos should be shot in the same month as the contest.
- All photos should be from a 4/3 or µ4/3 system camera.
- You should provide EXIF info for the picture, so that we can verify the info.
- No pictures will be used for any other reason than the creator has intended, e.g. don't print their photos without permission, or use them for any purpose of your own.
